Klaas van Gend is one of the experts for Vector Fabrics, a company specializing in multi-core and many-core programming. Vector Fabrics’ expertise and tools are used by companies around the globe to improve existing code for parallel operation. Visionaries in processor design and software architecture founded Vector Fabrics to create a tool suite for finding and implementing concurrency and to prevent all kinds of multithreaded programming issues like deadlocks, memory corruptions and race conditions. Vector Fabrics is also behind the www.multicoreprogramming.com training for C and C++. Prior to Vector Fabrics, Klaas worked as FAE and consultant for MontaVista Software. Klaas was co-founder of the Embedded Linux Conference Europe and lead developer for several open source projects. As a hobby, he writes articles for print computer magazines and he flies glider planes.
